2018 Art Camp

Camp Sessions for Children 5-8 years old

Thumbelina 6/11 thru 6/14
This session is based on the story from Hans Christian Andersen. We will create fairies and flower miniatures
with wool felt and clay while making scenes from nature.
The children will learn how to wet felt and some beginning sewing.
There will be a tea party on Thursday.

Snow White, Rose Red and The Bear Prince 6/18 thru 6/21
This session is based on the story by Brothers Grimm.
The children will learn beginning sewing and make a bear.
They will make clay woodland animals. We will have costumes and we will put on a play Thursday.

Mermaids and Pirates 7/2 thru 7/5
They will hear children’s stories of Mermaids and Pirates. In this session we will be felting, sewing sea related toys.
They will design treasure maps and small treasure boxes for keepsakes. A fun treasure hunt will be held on Thursday.

Jungle Animals 7/9 thru 7/12
In this session the children will create terrariums with plants and miniatures. The children will design their own artistic
musical rain sticks. We will hear children’s animal stories and make animal masks of their choice.

Horses and Ponies 7/16 thru 7/19
We will have stories of horses and they will learn beginning sewing stitches, to sew a toy horse.
Each child will decorate a wooden barn.
We will spend time designing dream catchers with natural materials.

Feathered Friends 8/6 thru 8/9
We will hear children’s stories of many birds. The children will create bird toys. We will be sewing, felting
and designing with clay and beeswax modeling. With feathers we will make costumes and
have a feathered fun play on Thursday.


Hours: 9:00am drop off through 2:00pm pickup

Materials fee and snack is included in the session cost.

About the teacher

Monica has been teaching handwork and art to children and adults for over 10 years, in Sonoma County. She is a mother of three Waldorf students. Monica also has an adult step daughter and 2 grandsons. Monica enjoys watercolor and doll making.
